Rumors are abound that Warner Bros has postponed SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL indefinately while they proceed with the JLA film, which puts Tom Welling in the tights and cape and also leaves Christian Bale cowl-less.

Now, I really hated Warner after it pissed all over Superman and Batman material. I thought they were getting their act back together with SUPERMAN RETURNS, and Chris Nolan's BATMAN films.

But THIS is travesty. It makes me so angry I want to punch babies. There are rumors that if a new Superman film gets made, it will be a bit of a reboot...whatever the heck that means.

I sure as heck hope that all this silliness just fades away and we'll again see Singer bring Routh and Spacey back to the silver screen once again. RETURNS was a superb film...to hell with all the teeny boppers that want to have Tom Welling's love child.

Hopefully, all of eight people will come out to see the Hulk reboot and show Warner that they should stick with what they have. I could never see a Superman film that didn't pay tribute to Chris Reeves and feature the Williams' march.

Now, that doesn't mean that Singers next Superman film needs to bathe and marinate in Donner's SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE for the second time. Just move on from where you left off.

Maybe I need a new hobby. I get too wrapped up in all this drama.

Just make sure your new hobby isn't babysitting...

The idea of a Superman film being junked in favor of Justice League is ludicrous. I really think that they need to keep Brandon Routh and Christian Bale in their respective roles and have either Nolan or Singer direct, which is not going to happen. I don't believe that the WB would shelve Singer after putting in some much effort to woo him, but Hollywood is stupid that way.

I'm not opposed to Tom Welling playing Supes on the big screen, but once again I'd rather have Routh. I've actually heard that the studio is leaning towards Rupert Evans. I like the actor well enough but not as Superman.

The Hulk movie on the other hand I am excited for. I knew Ang Lee wouldn't be back to direct after watching his Hulk. I liked Hulk better than most, but it was too methodic in its presentation to warrant multiple viewing by the Ridilin generation. For continuities sake I wish that they would've kept the original cast, but in terms of quality I think it is a wash (Eric Bana < Ed Norton & Jennifer Connelly > Liv Tyler). I hope Danny Elfman returns and provides the score most people expected from the first movie.

Ruper Evans...

Ugh. so that Supes would certainly be a departure from the Donner incarnation we have now. Yucky.

As for HULK, I enjoyed that film...but this new one isn't even a sequel...its a complete reboot and start over from the rumors. Now I think that is awful.

Where is the continuity in all these films? I think Elektra would have had a huge boost in story and believability if Affleck stuck his nose in for just that one scene. Continuity is our friend.

Okay...

So rumor has it that now the direct sequel to SUPERMAN RETURNS is being canned in favor of a reboot / reintroduction to the character. After all the talk about Mark Millar lately...and WB turning down his pitch...I thought Singer's sequel was on the go.

Hmm....a darker Superman. What the hell is that, exactly?
